Hutch Trick Star thread
Is there a Hutch Trick Star thread yet? If no, then why not start one here. My TS is being shipped to me but post pics of yours so we can see what you got. Also I have some questions about Trick Stars…
1. What does the baseball sign in the serial number mean?
2. How can I tell if it is USA made?
3. Why do some of the TS forks have longer pegs than most other TS forks?
4. How can I tell if the paint is Og or not?
5. Are all ladder bars Mike D. bars? If not how can I tell the difference?

1) Baseball = Japanese made.........1986 and later
2) USA= NO Baseball ![]()
3) Not sure
4) That can only be answered by you
5) There are three styles of "Ladder" Bars. Buff bars have two round cross bars that are the same size, Mike D bars also have two cross bars but they have the smaller lower cross bar and Dully/Windstyler bars have two cross bars but both cross bars have an indented line across the length of them

Re: Hutch Trick Star thread
Here is my chrome 86 long peg F/F I bought off the classifieds here last week. I jumped the gun a little bit and bought it without checking to see what it will cost to build it correctly. $300 just for fair condition bars and stem IF I'm lucky. This build might not happen. Already have a performer and fsx in mid resto.I was 15 in 85 and dreamed of having one but I remember they were like $550 or so for a new one and A single mom couldn't buy it for me. Its just money I guess.....

Re: Hutch Trick Star thread
Figured if I posted this POS first, it could only get better from here. Seat tube was broken off flush when I got it, I welded on and smoothed it until I didn't care anymore. Just painted it today in the backyard, there are some waterspots cause it was raining. Low buck build at it's finest. Decals should be here this week. Baseball frame, should hit it with a bat! ![]()

Re: Hutch Trick Star thread
Here's mine......
I bought this new in 1984 when they first came out. It was ordered as just the frame & fork and Buff bars. I built it up at my LBS with all Hutch parts except Aerospeeds......I couldn't even get a set from Hutch then!
I changed a few things on it over the years when I was riding it, but I put it back to original about 10 years ago........with Aerospeeds finally!
All the parts are exactly like you would find on a Pro Star, including titanium spokes. It has a deep H stem, and NOS Hutch grips that I bought about 10 years ago for $20! The padset is original also, a little beat up, but I refuse to put anything re-popped on this bike.
All the chrome on everything is original.....including cranks. The only thing I replaced when I rebuilt it was the downtube and fork stickers, they were pretty trashed! I replaced them with real deal stickers, not re-pops.
This is a bike I will never sell. Too many good memories.
