2005 FELT Iron Cross 400

Limited edition cruiser.

Here's my 2005 Felt Vintage Iron Cross 400. This is the first in a series of bikes that Felt created along with the company Vintage Iron out of California. Vintage Iron specializes in restoring vintage motocross bikes. This particular bike was designed to mimic the 70s model Husqvarna 400 Cross motorcycle which was one of the stars in the movie "On Any Sunday." Bike comes complete with a Nexus 3 speed coaster brake hub and a drum brake up front. It's a total blast to ride and it's hard to keep from making motocross sounds when you're crusin' down the road.

Re: 2005 FELT Iron Cross 400

Hard to look at this bike and not wonder where the engine went.
Being involved in MX for 35+ years this bike just oozes cool to me.
A previous employer of mine has the bike this one is modeled after.
Love it...

Re: 2005 FELT Iron Cross 400

Here's my VI-400 and my Bolt (modeled after Bob Hannah's '74 Yamaha).  I've been searching for the Bultaco Pursang but have only found one and it was not for sale.  I love the 24"/26" combo.   I ordered a front fender from the Pursang and had it powdered silver to match the VI-400.  The original fenders are pretty floppy in the way they mount.  The Pursang fender is shorter and mounts better.

Re: 2005 FELT Iron Cross 400

the 2005 thing had me scratching my head for a minute. then I realized that it's the vintage Iron version of this bike. Felt did the first production run on these bikes about 10 years ago as I recall. (maybe longer) my local bike shop had one on the showroom floor then and I couldn't scrape up the cash for it so I let it go. I inquired later if one could be ordered for me but I was too late, they were no longer available from Felt:(

Re: 2005 FELT Iron Cross 400

Sodbuster are you speaking of the Yamaha version?  The first one I saw was a different version of a Yamaha.  I'd love to see an early version of the Husky.

Here's a picture of the Bultaco tribute:

Re: 2005 FELT Iron Cross 400

This would be a perfect bike to put one of those engine kits you can get for around $150 for the 80cc kit. Those thing fly! My friend has one on a Chopped and streched beach cruiser and that thing will do nearly 50mph. How much are people selling theese bikes for? A pretty penny Im sure!

No the Husky version. It was the first one the rest followed once Iron horse got involved a few years later. Up untill that time I don't think Felt even considered the other bike brands.
