1980 Baja Spirit

Sweet fleamarket find! This bike restarted my BMX ADDICTION, now I have 15 bikes.

Bought this at a local flea market for 20 bucks! I don't know much about it other than what I have found on this site. It was a little rough when I got it but with a little work, she's a bute! Troxel Trakmaster mags, Dorcy seat and grips, SR stem and original pads. If anyone has any info on this bike let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.
Updated January 2015 - bike was upgraded with new brakes front and back, air-uni number plate with custom graphics, cro-mo seat post, pedals and survivor OGK mags restored by me. What a difference - the second last pick is a before and the last is as I found the bike years ago.

Sort of reminds me of an early Schwinn, maybe a Mag-Scrambler or Phantom. Cool looking ride! cool

Re: 1980 Baja Spirit

OMG, This was my first bike!  I can't believe how great condition you have it.  I can tell the modification that was done.
The original bike was:
-Red (just like this one)
- you have the original stickers, frame and forks.
- tires were not 5 star.  They were standard spokes, with yellow tires
-there was no hand brakes.
-the seat was yellow (like yours)
-it had a goose neck to camp on the handle bars.
-it had a cushions on the frame (just like your) and on the handle bars.

I believe it was purchased at Zellers or Towers approx 1984

I loved this bike.
