1983 Hutch Pro Racer
1983 Hutch Pro Racer
Near replica of my old race bike
@font-face { font-family: "Cambria"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; }This could be a 1982 but I'll call it an "83 since that's when I got my first Hutch Pro Racer. I set out to build a replica of the bike I raced in 83/84 before it was stolen. This one is sporting Hutch bars, seat post, seat post clamp (NOS) and pedals (new). Tange BMX 125 headset w/ Hutch headset lock (NOS). ACS Z rims with Suntour sealed hubs (still looking for Hutch hubs). Profile cranks, DK stem, Kashimax Aero seat (new) and Dia Compe MX 1000 rear brake. Restoration decals brought the frame back to life. Fork is drilled but appears to be drilled by hand. Almost an exact replica of the Hutch I had when I was racing back in the day. I even found my original Haro Plate from’82 (thanks Matt!)

Great tribute build to your old race bike, looks like it could race again anytime.

Re: 1983 Hutch Pro Racer
Wow. Cool bike. If I get a Hutch I hope it looks this sweet. I think you should just ride it around town and look for kids to Race.
