Old School BMX in the greater Toronto area?

Just thought I'd put a shout out out there to all the old school enthusiasts in the GTA to see if we could start up a little group...might be worthwhile in case people want to sell/trade old school stuff somewhat locally.  I started a facebook group as well for Canadian OS enthusiasts.  Just look up Old School BMX Canada under groups.
Cheers!

I'm in. There's enough guys around here doing this. Everytime something is posted on Kijiji there is 150+ people looking. Pick any Tim Horton's in South Central Ontario to meet at and it'll be an event!

I'm surprised this was such a short thread considering the amount of people in Toronto Ontario that are bmx old schoolers. yikes

Re: Old School BMX in the greater Toronto area?

Great idea.

A friend of mine and myself were actually talking about a type of "get together/parts swap meet" in the area.

Kijiji is a definite site to look forold schoolers. also try pinkbike.com

Not yet Rob, hopefully this summer we can get some people together. I know that I personally will be
un-employed all summer and should have nothing but time. lol

Can't hurt to through some ideas out now though.

Re: Old School BMX in the greater Toronto area?

Well, you could sell tickets for a determined amount, go to a few local shops to see if they would like to sponsor the event by even just selling hotdogs and burgers, of course it would have to be at fair size ground, people could pay a fee to show their bikes, at a certain size of lot, get lots of sponsors from bike shops from here to toronto to throw in some bike parts as gifts for a draw, Im a DJ AND I make t shirts, so I could provide some serious sound and a PA system. With a little bit of passion, and commitment, it could send off really well!

Clayton at Backpedaling is talking about having an old school day in Guelph this summer. We can show, shop and ride!
