1979 Fuji Feather Professional

First year of the Fuji Feather Professionals

This is a 1979 Fuji Feather (Professional). I put Professional in parenthesis becuase they were called only "Feather" in 1979 but Feather Professionals in 1980. They are essentially the same frame and fork.

This frame and fork was literally saved from a metal scrap yard. It is the only 1979 Fuji Feather I have seen. It is currently under restoration and it will be brought back to as close to stock as possible.

Re: 1979 Fuji Feather Professional

One of the differences between a 1979 and 80 is the seat tube sticker

Here's is what I hope my restored version to look like, pictured is a 1980 model in the golden brown color. Currently only missing the chain guard, but need to restore almost every part.

Re: 1979 Fuji Feather Professional

I'm trying to find the same exact F&F.  I want to build one exactly like that as well but non-restored...I want to make it a survivor with original finish and decals.   Your F&F is really in excellent condition, doesn't need a restore.  Just build it up!!   They can only be original once.  wink

Nice find!'

It's in worse shape than it looks. There is some pretty good dents on the rear tubes and the rust has eaten away at quite a bit of the paint. I do have a 1980 f/f in red that I might consider selling down the road. I will keep my eye out and let you know if I see anything though. Always good to have another Fuji fan.

Re: 1979 Fuji Feather Professional

I just started thinking about my Fuji Feather(light) that I use to race back in the day and decided to make the trip back to the folks house to grab it. I beleive it is a 79', but I was wondering if anyone has a picture on the 80" seat tube sticker (might jog my memory). I have a Chrome Fuji that if memory serves me right, is in really good shope with no dents and has been garaged stored since I hung it up back in the 80's.
