FUNNY STORY. When i was 14 my freinds mom told him to go to Acme super market and get a gallon of milk. He had a spray bombed stingrey type of bike with a bannana seat.He says to me want to take a ride i say sure , but my bike has a flat.He says jump on the back i will ride you so i say cool lets go did this about a million times before .The store was in wollington NJ.We were staying in Carlstat NJ and it was all steep hills on the way to the store. So we fly down to the store steal a couple of HOTWHEELS toy cars buy the milk and stepoff. I jump on the back of the bike he starts peddling real fast. Hits the corner of the street goes to jump the curbe pulls up the front and the front wheel flys off. Man when i tell you we went down like bombs and there was no way out of it. The milk busted all over the road. And to top it off we were on the ground all F"D up .We look up and the front rim was still rollin it went up a liitle hill in front of a Dunkin Donuts and finelly stoped. Everybody was laughing at us I think HACETTEMAN was there it was funny as sh*t. ANY BODY ELSE WISH TO SHARE! No BS storys the truth.

A few years back I was crossing the Highway to Bunny Hop onto the Sidewalk & my Front Rim came off...I thought at first I smash my Teeth into the Sidewalk it only happen to be my Chin...It was a Bloody Mess...I got back on Bike as fast as I could I got out of sight...there was people working on a Roof not to sure if they see me or not didnt hang around to Notice...

thats why you never ever ever just put your wheel back on withotu tightening it. im serious. the only time you put it in the fork better tighten it down becasue you will forget and then flip your bike over and ride off. it happens probably more than you would think.

i had a chain snap on me while i was riding a wheely.i fell backwards and cut myself all up.i had a piece of glass in my hand for about 6 months.the wound would not close up untill it worked its way out.i had no clue there was glass in there.pretty big piece to.so lesson learned use a master link instead of a big asss hammer

my middle brother changed a tube in my older brothers 85 viper turbo I think we were at home jumping one day about 5 of our freinds plus me and my bros. my oldest bro hopped on rode up the ramp and bam the front wheel came off. it seemed like slow motion as he came down. the forks dug in and the handlebars ( hole in the grip end was exsposed) dug into his knee. he was about 12 then. and put a perfect dime shaped hole in it. he is 31 now the scar is still there in all its GLORY!!! it was some funny shit. ohh yeah my middle bro got a beating too.

wasnt the front wheel , but i had the handlebars and stem come out once.... totally my fault , i guess i forgot to tighten it properly , rash and bruises , but lesson learned

ive had a pedal fall out once, was working on the bb and had the 1pc crank off and put it back together and only threaded the pedal in part way, i forgot about it and rode down the street, imade it to the end of the block and went to bunnyhop... it fell out was surprised but didn't get hurt

Was at a track meet in high school. Was after it was over and all the busses were lined up getting loaded. Just trying to show off to all the honeys from other schools. It was a gravle parking lot I got up to max speed to bunny hop a parking block.They were all looking, just as i got to it and pulled with all I had.....the stem pulled out of the fork. Well, over I went, slid for about 20' and came to rest under a moving car. Car got stopped, I got my self up got my composure back, picked up my bike, smiled and waved. Then went around the corner, lay on the cool grass and cried my ass off. I was messed up.

BITD, I gave a friend of mine a set of forks that looked like a set of landing gear to throw on his bike. And later that day we built a ramp and were jumping with a bunch of friends from the neighborhood. The third time he landed the forks snapped in half right at the race and he face planted..... I felt like crap....

for about 5 seconds!!! We were all dying laughing! Including the kid that face planted!! Thank God the ramp was in someones backyard on grass! Would have been a totally different story if we were on concrete

The first time I ever jumped my bike the front wheel came off mid-air. That sucked.

The day I got my 83 PL-20 Carrera 2 I took it out to the old Barnett Park track to get used to it and there was this tabletop after the first turn that I liked to jump. Long story short the front wheel fell of in mid air (shoddy assembly job at the shop) and those pretty chrome tapered forks went 8" deep into the clay. Needless to say the bike stopped immediately and I didn't. I knocked my breath out on the crossbar and scraped up my face pertty good. That's why i always work on my own bike now. If something goes wrong, I have noone else to blame.

Another Stupid HHPete Moment:

My friend and I built a half pipe in his yard. So the next day I took my Master apart and cleaned/ greased it up. (couldn't hit a new ramp with a dirty bike!) We'll dumbass me lost the lock nut for my front brake during the cleaning.......

And decided to put a butterfly bolt on it instead

Needless to say....third time I came down....the butterfly bolt fell off....brakes pulled out....locked the front wheel..... and I went right over the front wheel

I just played it off like the lock nut bolt must have broken. (because that happens all the time )

Never had a wheel come off.thats the 1st thing i make sure is tight.seen it happen many times though..Had pant leg get caught in sproket and chain manny times,some times it well take ya down.
It also sucks when your shoe lace raps around pedal spindal torques your foot,and if ya got coaster brakes forget about it....

i borrowed my brothers Huffy Sigma one time when i was a kid, wheelied up this hill and watched the front wheel pop off and roll down the road LOL, i of course didnt do anything but panic and drop the front end straight into the pavement....ouch! all it did to the bike was fold in one side of the fork dropouts...walked it home, had him yell at me and then all he did was use and adjustable wrench to fold it back, problem solved

I just had a chain pop off as i was powering down n my knee hit the headstem . Took off a lil skin and now its bruised lol

i had a chain break right before I hit the ramp flipped over handlebars face first on the ramp bike flipped and seat hit me in the head. I was about 26 at the time I was trying to show off for some teenagers so I wallked away with tail between my legs lmao

Not riding a bike....but in 1986 I got a set of uni-lug Crager SS mags that were about a foot wide with 5o series Mickey Thompsen's. I threw them on, not realizing they took a special"acorn" lug nut. I drove all day before the back one came off doing 65 MPH down I-29. To this day I remember seeing that damn wheel going by each time the car spun a 360...probably 10 times before I stopped in the ditch. then I remember watching it roll another 1/4 mile straght down the highway....Miraculously nobody got hurt, I had it towed and replaced all the lugs on that axle....still don't know how I did not flip that MoFo? I learned that day....always do sheet the right way...always!

This is true man and it happens to the back rim to you think you tighten it enough then you start jumpen and hoppen and its rubbin on the frame.and that goes with all parts necks to.you got to tighten them untill the wrench dont move ive snaped alot of bolts in my time it sucks.

Bro same thing here but i was raceing.Almost lost my manhood no pads at all thats when you wish you never took them off in the first place.

YES yyou should give a new asembeld or used bike a once over with the wrenches you never know.
