1976 Sears MX-850
1976 Sears MX-850
This bike, 99% of it anyways is a Sears MX-850 from '76. It has been a labor of love and finding parts for these types of bikes in good condition are next to impossible, it took 3 years! It still rides like it did back in the 70s, the front and back suspension are still tight. It gets alot of looks from guys my age and kids actually. The last pic is what the bike looked like when i received it, Enjoy!

Re: 1976 Sears MX-850
Anyone know how to fix the front suspension on these kind of bikes? Mine have lost their spring and I heard that it is possible to add fork fluid, is this possible?
UPDATE: No need anymore, I found a mint set:D

Re: 1976 Sears MX-850
Awesome Ride,
I had this exact Bike in the Seventies here in Canada. My father made me save double the money (Purchase Price $120) from my paper route ..." I think he thought I would never do it" ... Next thing he knew I had saved double and I gave him the cash in a white envelope along with a cut out from the Sears catalogue ... "He work right down the street from the Sears store and he picked it up for me on a Friday afternoon. I still remember my first ride down the street and I rode that bike with Pride! Thanks for the Memories!!!

We had those in the late 70s getting ramped air with those MXs was kinda scary, you never landed the same way twice.
Looking for 85-86 Rl 20 II frame in rider condition. Elina flyte tech eat in white used rider condition.

Re: 1976 Sears MX-850
Sweet sound heard by many kids in the 70s for sure. I was lucky to have owned one and by the time I was finished with it the shocks were worn and tired : ) It was nice going to school and seeing alot of kids locking them up in the bike racks all different makes and models of this type of bicycle. I was such a big fan of this type of bicycle and can remember quite accuratly looking at the new ones in the bike racks all the time and just admiring everything about this bicycle.............very found memories indeed.
