Re: 1998 GT Performer

If those forks came stock, then its the PRO Performer rather then just the regular performer (big price difference) and better made. I know there's a few other differences between them but I can't really tell cause almost all original parts were taking off. I'm sure Duke 01 will know since he tought me a thing or 2 already.

Re: 1998 GT Performer

yea duke 01 is the man to talk to. bottom crank ## will tell u the year and is it 1 1/8" headtube or 1" that can sometimes tell u what u have depending on the year.

I'm not an expert but i do know about gut's!! its def a 98-01 model!! don't think its original color!!its either a pro performer or someone swapped the forks!! i have a 99 and it does not have those packman style dropouts on the forks!! put ur serial number on here and we can decode it for u!! it will tell u much more for shore!! hope i helped a little!! good luck with the build!! i like this frame style!!

yeah! try n get ahold of duke01!! cuz I don't think that stem is org either!! most 98-01 that I've seen or had have had the piston stem on them from factory!! he will be able to tell u if this stem is org for a pro or not!! i dnt think so!!

Re: 1998 GT Performer

I've bin doin a little research!!gt tour n tour 2 had the same frame style n all had packman drop outs!! performer n pro performer both came with them also!! the performer had a 1 inch steer time n pro was 1 1/8!! so if u have a 1inch nut tryn thread it on!! if it fits than u most likely have a perfumer!! just tryn 2 help out bro!!
