Looks like it was made by Matthews (rear triangle and front shock mount).  This is very similar to the bikes Matthews made for Takara and Kabuki.

That is a proper cool bike that just looks good as it is. Definitely a candidate for not restoring. Is it American?

That is SO sick! Nice ride - and those MTB engineers thought they came up with something when they started doing this style suspension frame 10yrs back....BMX guys beat em to it by 20 YEARS!!
