1987 Haro Team Master
1987 Haro Team Master
Late 80's flatland survivor slowly coming back to life.
I had an 88 Team Master in high school and sold it in college. Regretted that decision ever since.
This is a Team Master frame and fork that I picked up quite a few years ago and I've been slowly resurrecting it. I always loved the acid yellow of the 87. I've found quite a few Peregrine bits (pegs, bar ends, seatpost clamp, chainring) and put some replica kneesavers on there for the time being (still keeping the original bars around). I'll probably paint the bottom of the kneesavers black and put 87 stickers on them to match since AJK is now selling those individually. Also want to swap the saddle for a black dominator. All in all it is a pretty solid ride which I'll probably finish restoring with more original parts swapped in as I find them and ride on rare occasions (just bought a chrome 96 zippo as a regular retro rider).
Parts list:
Frame and fork: 1987 Haro Team Master

Cranks: Redline OPC 175mm

Wheels: Alex 7X23D wheels

Nice survivor!!! you gotta keep the OG bars on there in my opinion. To have an awesome survivor like this, then have some repainted bars may look goofy.. put those survivor bars back on, and let it ride brotha! Awesome! 87 Team Masters are always a fave!!!

Re: 1987 Haro Team Master
I may put the original bars back on there since I have them. I loved the kneesaver 1's back when I had an 88 and wanted them on this build but now I've get kneesaver 2's on the zippo build that I'm working on as a regular rider that I won't mind wrecking on. So once that is finished I'll have a setup with kneesavers in the mix.
Funny thing is that the Zippo (96 I think) came with chrome bars that are the same shape as the original 87 bars. Maybe a little more swayed back at the grips but not much. Anyone know what the deal is? Were they basically the same?
