HUTCH AEROSPEEDS ARE HERE!!!
They use a Profile BB and have a titanium spindle and bolts. Crank arms were made by Johnny Chopper formerly out of Australia. 23? sets were made for Hutch by Johnny Chopper. Johnny Chopper has ceased operations due to the global economy and the cranks will now be made in WI, USA!
Price $499.95.
Thanks John! ![]()
Gary at Johnny Chopper's letter to the public:
http://www.vintagebmx.com/community/ind … c=27041226
"After weeks of deliberation, I am sorry to inform everyone that Johnny Chopper will be ceasing operation in late Feb 2010. My wife and I have put everything we have into the business over the last 12mths and in particular the last 6mths to keep it going. It has been the toughest decision to make as 2010 was shaping up to be a great year with signature bars for Olympian Luke Madill, and fellow Olympian Kamakazi riding a JC f/f as well as a few other great projects. I will be finishing existing orders over the next 2 months and getting stock and machinery ready to sell. Unfortunately the global economy has taken it's toll on JC with orders from retro customers in the USA and UK dropping off over the past 12 months. Offshore manufacturing is another major factor in contributing to the end of JC, we simply cannot compete with offshore product pricing in the BMX race or street market. "

I do plan on having a well respected member here powder it the wrong dayglo pink color before I install some 87 PFT team model decals on it.
I will call it NOS refinished so I can charge the big bucks too.

Re: HUTCH AEROSPEEDS ARE HERE!!!
Are those Ti spindles? Or hollow? I assume they aren't standard steel spindles for these cranks.

Re: HUTCH AEROSPEEDS ARE HERE!!!
Something that I would be really irked about is the fact that there is a bag of spacers w/them. Those crank arms are designed to not to use spacers unlike Profile. It’s too much of a mix of different types…yeah the spindle design makes it more durable, but the OG design looked “cleaner if that makes any sense.
