Re: New Zealand
Hey Krackd, yep thats the best thing for now! Some of the parts have cleaned up like NOS, seems to be a very low mileage bike. I'm going to sort out some new tread and use it for a while. Hopefully T whites will arrange another ride out! Cheers:)

Nice Mongoose man, looks like an easy cleanup for a survivor
Don't know much about redlines
It came from T whites in NZ originally, just wanting to know if its a 500a or a 600a?
or if anyone use to own this...?
Serial on the bottom of the bb is 361920
Any help would be appreciated, thanks Az

Re: New Zealand
Yes I know this Redline bike, it was my friend Craves, he used to be on here quite a bit if you remember him. He found the frame spray bombed and covered in stickers...
He did some research on the frame and came up with 600a Redline so powered it and sticked it to suit
hope this helps
Markspy your welcome, always keen to help out fellow Old School Bmx enthusiasts
I have lots of US branded 80's NOS bmx parts and bikes if you guys need stuff... Redline, hutch, mongoose, skyway, dia compe, uni air, odyessy, dyno etc.

Actually, I could be wrong. I was thinking of the MXIII forks, and maybe they changed them for the 600a's. So, please ignore my last post ![]()

Re: New Zealand
Does anyone know if you can get a 13cm (give or take) hollow stem bolt? The only ones i've seen are about 16+cm which is too long for my stem (picture below). I want to add it to my '91 GT Aggressor. I've heard about just cutting and re tapping one of the longer ones but surely there are different sized ones out there?

Loving the Mongoose Decades !
I used to have its predecessor back in the day.. a Mongoose FS-1. in neon green, with Skyways
When the green faded out a bit, I had it chromed
If anyone ever sees a chrome Mongoose FS-1 in NZ, would love to know

Re: New Zealand
Its a bout time we got this regular ride going in Auckland !
The weather should be getting better soon
Thinking a regular monthly ride around Queen's Wharf, Viaduct, Wynyard Quarter, Silo Park etc
So what suits better, a Saturday or Sunday, morning or afternoon ??
I've seen & met up with a few out riding over winter, which is cool
But a highlight, was having a long chat with Russell Norman, Green Party co-leader
He was so interested in an old dude, still tearing around on a BMX.. perfect for tackling the city
Then he remembered how he used to be really into BMX as a kid, had jumps at his house, & loved it
You could see that look on him we all have had, as you remember those glorious times of BMX Action !

Sounds good! Saturday mornings are probably best for me, but reasonably flexible until I get growled at by the Mrs:rolleyes:

Pantha Honeycomb Axles
Right I've been looking into getting so new axles made (got to love the power of rust) and have been quoted $40 PER axle. Is anyone else looking to get some made or have had them made? Is this a 'reasonable' estimate? Keen to hear peoples thoughts here!

Look like Tange TX-1200 Forks to me
I think I have a spore set of Redline forks in storage
They are from a 80's Redline, with same dropouts as MXII/III Forks
but later 80's I think, basically the same

Yeah I thought they might be Tanges too, but no markings to show me that
I have other tange forks here, 2A's and 2B's, etc.... and they don't look the same, especially with MADE IN TAIWAN on them....?
Cheers, I would be interested in the forks you have, PM me when you get them out and send me some pics if possible?
Thanks Az

umm, good spotting mate, they are defintiely similar to the Akisu
I have a few sets here with different shaped dropouts...
These are the 'Made in Taiwan' ones on the Redline 600a currently
These were in the garage waiting for that lovin ![]()

And these are some others that I have.....
And I think Akisu's, that I had done recently in black satin powder, same dropout with the same angle for the axle, opposed to being straight...

Keen to see the old Scout....
Easiest way is to hit the 'submit bike' button on the left hand side, just under your messages bit....
and submit the bike by uploading pics from your pc
Or
The harder and longer way is to upload them to the free photobucket application, when uploaded use the image link from photobucket
and copy & paste the link in what your writing on here in this forum and the pic should show up, if that makes sense?
Cheers
