1986 Brackens 24" cruiser

1986 Brackens 24" cruiser

I'm still not 100% positive this is a Brackens, but nobody can ID this thing closer to any other frame/fork.  It looks almost identical to the other Brackens frame/fork set in the museum.  It lacks the chainstay gussets underneath the bottom bracket, so that would put it at before 87 I believe.
Parts breakdown:
- Brackens (?) frame/fork
- Redline hubs/alex rims
- Torker cranks
- GT 39t chainwheel
- GT pedals
- Viscount Dominator seat
- Redline cruiser bars
- TNT stem
- Tange headset lock
- Cheng Shin tires
- AME Tri grips
- Tektro brake lever
- Odyssey rear brake
- Skyway tuff pads in yellow (I know, they're the only ones I have that will stick to those rims!)
- Fluted two-tone seatpost
- Generic seatpost clamp
- Bulletproof generic chain tensioners

Re: 1986 Brackens 24" cruiser

Hey,
I dont think it is a Brackens, because it would have the odd gussett right behind the bottom bracket. Sure looks nice and lean though.
The dropouts look like CW or maybe torker.
Someone here will know. also reminds me of a National pro, without the extra bar. cheers

Re: 1986 Brackens 24" cruiser

That's why I think it's a pre-87.... this one in the museum is an '86:

No gussets by the BB, dropouts are nearly identical, even the fork is very similar.

Brackens was made my CW/Torker along with Revcore I believe.

Re: 1986 Brackens 24" cruiser

Hi there,

i have exactly the same frame,  and it has brackens stickers. i bought it like that and i do believe this one more hint that it might be a very early brackens.
