Re: 1985 Redline RL20-II in BMXMUSEUM

Hey Gary, I see that one of your bikes (the black one) is a "MX." Can you tell me more about that brand? I vaguely remember that some kid in my neighborhood in the early 80s had a mini racer that was called a "MX Sport." I remember it was chrome with lots of blue anodized parts, Tuf Neck, and other high end parts. It had the 20 x 1 3/8 wheels, and was very lightweight. That kid's bike was awesome I remember. It had the metallic silver and blue checkboard patterned Flite pads. Brings back memories. The early 1980s were no doubt the best era for BMX bikes!

To bri, check out the forum with the radberry (Redline's macho name for lavender) RL20II, I answered your question there. -J

I used to have this very bike back when it came out.  This is THE bike as far as I concerned.  Ahh.. it brings back good memories of a more innocent time.  Super nice bike Gary!

It looks like the stem on both the trickstar and the redline are essentially smashed at the same angle ... someone was doing some massive drops or something on those two...

Hey,
those are both acs "slant" stem. they are at that angle to lower bars after raising them for the rotor below.
Trying to get better angle.

Hey Gary. I finally had a chance to go through all of your bikes and this redline is amazing. I always thought that the RL20 was the sweetest ride back in the day. Great collection and even better website.
