1977 Schwinn Tornado

Fully Restored Schwinn Tornado

one of the hardest bikes I've restored...not the paint work; but locating all the correct parts!! finally got it all together after about a year of parts searching. it has the correct "XMX" breadloaf seat, NOS number plate & frame insert, & tires..really cool bike!!

This is not a 1977 , it's a 1980 Schwinn Tornado , it might even be a 1981 , Schwinn Tornado . IT IS NOT A 1977 ScHWINN TORNADO !!!

looks like a 77 to me i had a 80 and it had a bmx style seat the breadloaf seats came on the 77-79 models the frames were all the same until 81 i think

I think bike's should be accurate , if they make it into the Museum ! I'm just trying to say it's really a "1974 GT Trick Star Sport XL , with JMC freestyle fork's" That's all ! Never mind !

thanks guys for all the comps!! I take pride in every resto I do, whether if it's for me or a client. phishfarm73, this bike is indeed a 1977 Schwinn Tornado serial#DN24XXX built in April of 1977. This bike along with the Schwinn "Hornet" 20" motocross style were released that year.
Poserbmx is also correct. they only sold these bikes with the "breadloaf" seat from 1977-79.
