1991 GT Pro Freestyle
1991 GT Pro Freestyle
One of my favourite GT's ever made
I bought this GT from a mate who imported it from America back in 1991. He had the back brake mounts modified and after repainting a few years later could only find Pro Performer stickers to give it the old skool look.
Very easy to ride, with all the right angles.

Re: 1991 GT Pro Freestyle
for sure a PFT but probably not a 1991 with that lower brake bridge and through the seat tube cable adjuster..more typical for a 92-94, 990 mount could have been added or I think the 94 had them stock.. decals for this model are as rare as the frame..
I find them hard to ride, Ive tried.. they are real quick but feel heavy...

Re: 1991 GT Pro Freestyle
I learned another good way to tell, the 90-91 had single plate rear drop outs. The 1992-1994 had double wide rear drop outs, two drop out plates welded together on each side. ![]()

Re: 1991 GT Pro Freestyle
this is really interesting, besides the fact that the bike is really well set up,with some of my fave era parts like vpx pedals, and a fusion twintorc clamp;the fact is it could really be a 1991-92,since it has no cable router on the down tube,I had several 93-94's which had the brake cable hole on the seat tube, and the mount ofr the pitbulls on the 93,and 990 mounts on the 94,and both had cable guides on the down tube.the 1992 I

Re: 1991 GT Pro Freestyle
it looks like a cable guide on the bottom side the down tube? that cant be right, he said the brake mount were modded, it wouldn't be the first 91-93 that someone welded on 990 mounts..
I liked the look of the fusion seat clamp back in the day , and always like the look of the knee savers, just dont think they had much more function than just looks, my knees never come close to the bars, I dont know.
cool bike with an awesome color...
