2001 Mongoose SGX Pro

Just picked this up (05/2010) and it's NEW -even reflectors and tires!

I think I finally figured it out -SGX = Super Goose !  X for xtreme or something.  They didn't have a Supergoose PRO size in 01, just the jr and 24.

I got this from someone who said they had saved it from the scrap guy.  I don't get it.  This was a $420 bike and it is new in all ways.
It was just missing a seat.  New one is on the way courtesy of Ebay.
Don't let the reflectors and chain guard throw you off, this is a serious and lightweight racing bike.  (I'll take those uglys off soon.)

20" Mongoose Pro SGX
20" pro sized frame, 7005 Oversized Aluminum Alloy Tubing, American BB, 1 1/8" threadless, 3/8" drops, integrated chain tensioners
Chromoly forks -nice welded/tapered ends like GT and SE, but with Mongoose graphic
Aluminum 3 piece MongoosePro cranks -175 with 44t alloy Sprocket
Welgo 9/16" alloy platform pedals
Sealed Mechanism (not bearing) mancined alloy hubs 36h laced to Alex DM24 double wall ally rims with machined walls
Mongoose knobby tires -1.75 / 2.125 fat skinny combo with Mongoose graphic and name in the tread
Mongoose Tripple Bolt top load stem (replaces the OG Mongoose under-mount threadless stem)
Mongoose chromoly handlebars
Tektro talon style V-brake right lever, Tektro lighter race V-brakes
Kalloy micro-adjust alloy seat post and Mongoose black seat post clamp

Parted and Sold on Ebay - December 2011

Re: 2001 Mongoose SGX Pro

I did give it some attention -I used chrome polish on the bars and fork, some armor all to the tires, and I wiped down the entire bike, but evidently, whatever kid got this for Christmas, didn't like it, or never put down the Nintendo long enough to go outside and ride.

Nice ride.  You scored well.  I keep looking for one in that era.

You want this one?  I'm not that attached to it.  I really want a 99.
I like the wheels -and may scavange those -but would let it go complete if you really like it.
