I have a frame pad you can have. Not in the best of shape, but it is original. If you want it just pm me with an offer (just a few dollars and postage coverage). If not, no problem! ![]()
Best of luck finding parts. If I see anything I'll let you know. Be sure to go with the original ACS stem.

Yeah I'm holding out for the right parts. I think the frame is in good enough shape that an OA bath and the correct parts will make you think its 1983 again!

1982. Check mine. Looks exactly the same! Check your serial #. Mine is E2975551. The 2 is the year, according to Gary.

Re: ★ Team Murray Builds! Team Murray Questions! Post them here... ★
I have a lot of questions regarding Murray builds... I'm going to try to absorb some more info before asking though.
When I was a kid I had some sort of banana seat Dallas Cowboys bike. Then for my 12th birthday, while visiting my grandparents in Denver, they took me to a store and let me pick out a bike. I walked out with a red X20 (looked very much like the blue one in the first post of this thread, except red!). My old brain can't recall details now... I swear it was an X20c, but there are some clues that make me think maybe it was an X20r.
I recently acquired an X20r F/F from Mirage, and I hope to recreate as closely as possible, my first "real" bike from my childhood. I'll need some help getting there though, determining what components are correct and all that... so many question sto come, I'm sure!

Here's the Red Team Murray that you're referring to. It's called a X20Z: http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/murray/57082

Thanks for the tip, but... nope, not the z. My F/F was chrome. Definitely didn't have the "Track Certified" sticker on it either.
Like I said, looked identical to the blue '82 (here: http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/murray/34813), except all the components were red instead of blue. Same seat, stem, chainwheel, pedals, grips, etc.
I'm going to call my parents and see if they have any old photos floating around a photo album or anything!

Re: ★ Team Murray Builds! Team Murray Questions! Post them here... ★
Nice catch Errl, I restored my Murray using some S100 polishing soap, but I'm sure a O/A bath wouldn't hurt none. Parts should be real easy to come by for this one. Just look through some of the old sales ads from Murray.
Here is a very good lead to get you started: http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.p … mp;amp;p=1(check out post #2 for padset).
I have a X20r frame set just like your I'm working on, but I'm giving priority to my x24r. I hope you find all the parts, and if you need help with questions and ideas...this would be a great place to start. Post those pics of progress, and share the love.

That 330 needs brakes, and then its off to the races. For some reason Murrays tend to clean up nice.
@Errl those are some nice cranks at a decent price(minus hardware) they are era correct, and would look good on an X-20 build.
