1978 Diamondback MX

2nd generation of the first model Diamond Back MX. Made in USA. Sold as frame or frame & forks only.

Looking to restore and assemble using period-correct components. Decals are original and original color of this frame is this candy red. Note the Centurion Bicycle Works decal on seat post instead of the usual Diamond Back decal.
USA bottom bracket. Square brake caliper mounting tube. Unique shaped rear drop-outs and bottom bracket brace.
Early dual drop-out forks with holes instead of the well-known diamond that was used on the later Large Pro model. 3 holes in the drop-outs are more common, however, these have only 2 and are possibly a late revised release. Guessing that the larger-lower hole may have induced cracking. There is no provision for front brake mounting.
(Thanks Rob! Its all good. big_smile)

Hope you enjoy it. It had been sitting in my shed for way to long. Make sure to show the progress.
