1981 Schwinn Predator

Replica of my childhood BMX bike.

The only part that is visibly different from my original bike is the chainguard, which I need in red instead of blue. If anyone can help me find one, please PM me! Thanks.

Re: 1981 Schwinn Predator

You did great on this.

Did your childhood bike have the motomags and oakley 3 grips?

Thanks, Ripper!

My childhood bike was actually handed down to me from my older brother. The Motomags were definitely there from the day he bought it. If I remember correctly, my brother personally chose the wheels as a custom option that the store was offering. I've seen a few other Schwinns here w/ Motomags, so I'm guessing this may have been a common option with various bike shops at the time. As for the grips, the bike originally came with the standard type. But I had replaced them with the red cobra type grips when the bike became mine.

I still need a red chainguard, if anyone can help!!big_smile

Nice! Childhood bikes are like that first girlfriend. Prettier ones come along...but you always go back.
