1987 Mongoose Miniscoot
Late 80's miniscoot. Sweet. All original from the grips to the tires. Awesome condition. Just try finding one of these things.
Picked the scoot up at a swap meet for $9 in Saugus, CA. All it needed was some steel wool and elbow grease. It's a bit dirty in the picture as it had been hanging in my wood shop. Ah the eighties in Pennsylvania...mullets, hair bands, jean jackets with Led Zeppelin concert shirts sewn on the back...and BMX!

87 was the year of the mini scoots. there must have been 30 of these things at my jr high then....not so much in 88 though. cool to see one again especially in this good of shape.
BMX MUSEUM is not a contest to see who has more bmx knowledge. It's a place to share it.

Thanks for all the positive memories. When these came out in 87 I remember all the pics in BMX Plus of the pool riding and trick riding. I was a track rider not a street guy. These were so cool though. I no longer own this scoot I sold it to a guy from the East Coast. I wasn't sure about posting it, but it was so nice and original I felt it would be a good addition to the list.

Thanks for the clarification. It is a scooter. The huge word "Mongoose" on the deck and again on the original grips have nothing to do with the "Scooter's" pedigree lol. Not too sure if I spelled the word Pedigree correctly...oh crap, there I go again. "and remember, don't crush them, restore them."

Ive got one of these, its had a 50cc engine hanging off the back for the past two years! i will put pics on, but want to restore it now, does anyone have any idea where to get parts??
