1979 Powerlite SRX
Powerlite Factory Race
This bike was a factory race bike built by Steve Rink of Powerlite, for Wasington State Pro Mike Rice, a good friend of mine, I've been restoring it the last few months. Super rare Powerlite stem, UKAI Speedlines, black spokes, with Bullseye Hubs and Comp III tires. Redline 401 cranks, Izumi chain, Shimano DX Pedals, MX 1000 brakes with Mathauser pads. Viscount Aero seat... and check out the Haro Factory Plate from '79 as well. Check out the link for some other info. on this bike.

Re: 1979 Powerlite SRX
Great bike! Are those Powerlite bars? Is there anything that distinguishes the stem as Powerlite (decal, etc)? Stamped Sugino? Where's the Haro plate?

Re: 1979 Powerlite SRX
Can we see a frontal view of the bike, and a close up of the bars and stem? Please?

Re: 1979 Powerlite SRX
Mike is way cool.. I bought a bunch of jerseys and other stuff off of him. If I had been a few days earlier, I'd have got this too! Nice dude, it's way cool and a piece of NW BMX History. Want to come race it? Hit me up....

Yes, they are powerlite bars, I updated the pics to show the stem with original decal, anf the Haro plate still with Mike's number on it. I also have his powerlite jersey and other misc documentation, sponsorship's etc.. Thanks for the comments.

THis bike was not built by steve Rink of powerlite !!! First off those are not powerlite bars.. NO bends on the end? Second powerlite back then only made frames/forks/bars etc.. not complete bikes....Maybe mike was a co sponser guy thru a bike shop but The only Real factory guys back then were Brackens , tosh muriov, danny millwee ,charles townsend for a bit and some other socal guys... How do i know all this ? because steve rink is my dad... and i worked at powerlite from 78 to 87... Mark Rink
