The build so far consists of Bombshell 24" rims, blue anodized, sealed hubs bombshell , Intense black NOS nobby tires, Blue anodized 50/50 CRank brothers pedals, 24" Elf forks (OTW), Elf blast bars, Hutch black freestyle stem NOS, Uni seat with blue aluminum Aino 7/8" post, NOS Tange blue handgrips repros,Profile cranks and Half link chrome chain...also odyssey modifyed brakes with adapter rear soon to be mounted. I have the pictures in disorder from how it was built but I will change soon. The Blue anodized Imperial Chainwheel is the newest picture. Wait until you see my 24 inch Blue anodized over chrome Elf cruiser frame ... next bike is OTW !!! Hurah.

Re: 1993 ELF DoubleCross XX 24" Cruiser
I am considering buying a cruiser to race since my 5 year old (my new excuse to spend money) is into bike riding. These ELF cruisers look nice, but will they take my 180 lbs at the bmx track? Very nice bike. Chrome is sweeet.

No they were one of the weakest made, do not buy one of these if you weigh that much....the forks were even worse....But I still love mine and wouldn't trade it for a Hutch.

How much would it cost me to buy one of these bikes if I wanted one?

Re: 1993 ELF DoubleCross XX 24" Cruiser
John my son.... that is the question... how much....I asked myself that when I bought the frame and fork on this one, my first Doublecross and it was around 450-500 without the forks, it came with answer forks so then I had to buy anothe whole elf cruiser and swap forks to get these and then all the parts well, it is really obscene how much I have in this particular one but frame and fork you can get a 24" Doublecross for around 350-400 if lucky and most have repro stickers without the doublecross sticker like mine does on the toptube... I have an elf 24" cruiser not the doublexx model with robinson forks i would sell if you are interested let me know....also have aquamarine 20" doublecross i might sell for a really really good offer if someone had the cash... it is a very rare frameset...forks are elf also...look in my bikes both bikes are there...

I think the forks were the issue... anyhow it is fun to ride and people think it is something special when they see me on the trail with my daughter...

Nonsense!!! The 24'' doublecross will hold 180 lbs with ease!!! WTF!!!!!!
There is an entire article written by Supercross designers about how they used to sit around at the track and watch the elf riders break bikes on jumps. It might just be a rant though becuase they say the design for the double chain stays was their idea and stolen by ELF.
I never seen it happen so I say it is up to you if you weigh that much maybe take a few sweet jumps and see if your teeth stay in your mouth.
