Worst BMX products of all-time...
I just thought I would throw this topic out there...What are some of the worst product's/idea's that you can remember? Old, Mid, or New school.
Me being old school will start with the Dia-Compe Tech II levers (as a little kid, you might as well of mounted that thing on your forks!)
or maybe Vector bars (bars and stem in one, WTF?)![]()

Reflectors, especially on serious race/freestyle bikes.
Old bikes need love too, get them off the carpet and ride!
Need red Oakley 3's in great condition and red Suntour 44t chainring to finish recreating my first BMX bike.

Re: Worst BMX products of all-time...
Wheel covers. They're ugly, they're heavy, and it sounds like they're coming off when you land a jump.
And those hard plastic octopus grips that came stock on bikes in the 70s and early 80s. Man, those things would make your hands into raw hamburger after a day of riding.
When I was young, I lived vicariously through my buddies who were getting laid - always asking for details.
Now, I just live vicariously through your bmx scores.

ACS rotor, SR Spintech, etc. Any rotor that requires the stem to be raised, causing it to break.

Anything made for, and sold by Walmart would be my vote!! ![]()
Also....Those cheap plastic pedals that have no adjustment that you can't take apart.

Re: Worst BMX products of all-time...
That's what I was thinking. You would have to use some sort of heavy equipment to get them on a rim. And how much do those things weigh? Yeah, those things are the worst so far.
Didn't someone post some weird straight bottom bracket axel that the pedals thread directly to? You can no longer pedal, just coast around. I'll try to find that one.

Re: Worst BMX products of all-time...
Pretty much anything ACS,but the rotor and Z-rims being the worst, the Z-rims being pretty much garbage.
Another honourable mention is the AC 888 15 tooth freewheel, complete piece of crap, mine lasts only 2 months being it started making all kinds of wierd noises and skipping.

Those plastic tube chain protectors. When you pedaled, it sounded like you were bending the never-ending bendy-straw! ![]()
Dad tried to install one on my Takara Outlaw back in '81 and by the time I was at the bottom of the start hill, I had a plastic streamer working it's way into my hubshell.
hahahahaha

I will agrre on most of the things on this list, except for the 14mm axles and the midschool tanks.
I could only wish the bike companies would start building industructable heavy frames again, not like the current featherweight fragile stuff made today.
