1981 Bassett Racing Twenty Four

My Holy Grail !!

Back in the day my dad owned a Boat shop out here in San Diego. All his Drag boats ran Bassett Racing Headers, so when I got back in to BMX I wanted to find one of these super rare cruiser's.
These are unusual in that they use a 20" rear triangle. It makes selecting cranks and gearing a challenge. 21 1/2 top tube and about a 15 chain stay.
All Bassett Headers come with a "Bassett" badge welded to them, Just as all Bassett BMX frames do.
The 1/4 mile drag boats were often called "Plastic Fantastic's"
So in their honor I used many "plastic" parts.
Sooo Here's my "Plastic Fantastic"!
F/F, Bassett Racing
Bars, CW Racing
Stem, Drop neck Tuff Neck
Grips, NOS Oakley 1's with crud plugs
Brake lever, Hair Trigger (plastic)
Seat, Cycle Pro Shot Gun 1
Clamp, Addick's (plastic)
Post, Fluted alum.
Caliper, DiaCompe 890
Pads, Skyway Finned
Rims, ACS Z
Hubs, Bullseye
B/B, Sealed Tioga
Crank, Takagi 180 one piece
Spider, Addicks
Chainring, Addicks (plastic)
Pedals, Team Cycle with KKT cages
Tires, Comp III knock off's
Pads, California Lite "Perry Krammer"
