Re: 2007 SE Racing P.K. Ripper

Nice work Karl.

Is there any way to put a front brake on the PK Ripper, although 99% I've seen have no front brake, one I saw had one and I'd like to put one on mine.

Re: 2007 SE Racing P.K. Ripper

Thanks, Kenco. Do I know you?

The new LG's are drilled so you can put on old style caliper front brakes. If you wanted to run newer style brakes, you would have to find 1-1/8 threadless forks with canti-mounts.

So I would say, yes, you can run front brakes if you wanted. smile

Re: 2007 SE Racing P.K. Ripper

Yep Karl, you hooked me up with your boy John to get a Retro frame shipped to me. He sent me a new chrome Landing Gear fork as well and I plan on putting a front brake on it.

I'm going to be leaning on you this winter or next spring as I build this bike up so thanks in advance for all the simple questions I'll be asking!

The LBS wants $60 a pair for those tires!  CARZY!  I hear they are sick though.  Nice build.

Re: 2007 SE Racing P.K. Ripper

Karl, I've got the retro frame and the LG forks, what kind of headset should I use to connect the two? Once I do this I'll be on my way to building mine up but want to start with the headset.

Re: 2007 SE Racing P.K. Ripper

Any normal 1 1/8 threadless headset will work, I used a Ciari because of the many color choices. Just make sure you DON'T buy an internal or integrated type of headset.

Re: 2007 SE Racing P.K. Ripper

Ok cool, I think I see Dan's Comp has them for $55....just need to decide between blue or platinum.

Thanks for the advice, I'm sure I'll have more questions as I proceed.
