1985 Skyway Street Beat

blue and white street beat

Ive built this up over about 2 months. mainly nos parts with exception to the crank and pedals and headset. I had some decals made in my colours (blue & silver). I Dont ride it as i have other riders and this just looks too good i think to be bashing around. here is the parts list.I like to read other peoples so i put mine up here goes; Blue skyway tuff 2's with 16t suntour freewheel. White kenda tyres comp 3 style. Blue dice dust caps. White Street Beat frame and forks. White EZ handlebars. Full Skyway padset. Polished DK head Stem. Blue anodised Hatta headset. Blue 3 peice SR Aerox-m crank with 44t SR sprocket. SR Custom pedals. White dia compe MX Tech 4 brake levers. White dia compe MX 1000 calipers. White dia compe brake cables. Blue Skyway tuff pads. Blue Diacompe MX hinged seat clamp. White Tioga layback seat post. White dominator pro grab seat. White SM racing mushroom grips. And thats it. All i need is a blue chain. Ive got a white one but its not nos so looks old and scuffed. What do you think do you like it? Cheers, Ben

Yeah i think your right. I wanted to keep the dominator pro seat on, but i might have to change it over then and get some more mushrooms.

Very nice skyway!!!  Needs a chain though.  I'd ride that thing everywhere, and just watch all the jaws drop.

Re: 1985 Skyway Street Beat

Love the bike, especially the custom decals.

I would change the Comp3's for some white 175 ramp tyres.  Steve @ Skatepool has some white Panaracer Freestyle tyres for £22 plus postage.  Get them now 'cos he's down to his last few pairs and once they're gone, they're gone.

I bagged his last pair of white Haro Freestyle tyres last year and I have not seen another NOS pair for sale since.

Get yourself a standard 45 degree layback as those braced ones may be strong but they look out of proportion with an almost 90 degree bend.

Re: 1985 Skyway Street Beat

Hi mate is that £22 for a pair? have you got a link to it? I could change it i suppose but to be honest i like it smile Each to their own an all that. It all comes down to individual taste. I did contemplate it though. I might try it on and see what it looks like. Thanks for the comments.
