1988 Brackens XL

Brackens BMX bike, check out those extra gussets behind the bottom bracket.

I contacted you a few years ago regarding a Brackens BMX bike that I have since the early '90s. I only raced this bike for about 2 or 3 years before I stopped racing and let me tell you, it was a light, solid and quick bike. The cool thing about racing it was that no one else had a Brackens, and a lot ot people admired it because of the way it was constructed. Anyway, I told you that I would send you pictures one day, and well here they are. Here are the specs of the bike as it is today:

Frame & Forks:   Brackens XL
Handle Bars:       S&M Slam Bars
Grips:                 ODI Longnecks
Stem:                 TNT XL
Brake Lever:        Odyssey Pitbull II
Brake:                Odyssey Pitbull
Hubs:                 Revcore (sealed)
Rims:                 Sun Mistral
Tires:                  Haro Holeshot 20x1.9
Cranks & BB:      Redline 180 Flight, 45T Redline gear
Pedals:              Odyssey Triple Trap
Chain:                Pearl Izumi
Seat Post:          S&M
Seat Clamp:       TNT
Seat:                 San Marco
Headset:            Generic, taken from a 1990ish Haro Group 1c

Since it's been 10 or more years since I've worked on the bike, I plan on taking it apart to clean, polish and rebuild it.

Thank you,
Norberto Luis

Re: 1988 Brackens XL

I rode one a mate had; it was really quick out of the gate, and kinda felt a bit 'Robinson-ish'. It was always one I meant to get around to owning, but....
