Re: 1979 Jag

Hi, I am new to the forum but not to JAG. I have a 79 JAG frame and fork and was hoping to find more info and I had no idea that people were looking for them now. I raced for factory JMC back in the day and one day this bike was shipped to my dad for me...it was a JAG with a uniform asking if I would agree to race it from time to time. After reading through this site, I am assuming it was a team bike...if I post pics, can anyone help me out? thanks

There's various info on the net if you do searches.

Vintagemongoose.com has a link with pictures of the bike for referance if that's of interests.

There's even an 80's cop show called "CHiPS" the had an episode with the Jag race team.

Okay cool, but this Jag is not made by BMXproducts.
So you won't find it over at VintageMongoose.com

You want this Jag:

Re: 1979 Jag

Hello Robdru.

Your jag is 1 of 2 models. Both of which were produced in either late 1982 or 1983.

If the top tube is about 18.5 inches long then it is the 1983 Jag.  Also known as the 83 stick tail Jag

If the top tube is 19.5 inches then it is the Paul Gossrau pro model. (they would also have Paul Gossrau stickers)

They also produced the loop tail 1983 team model which had a loop tail.
They also produced the Midi (expert size model) which had a stick tail
Finally they produced the 1983 Jag cruiser which also had the stick tail.

Hope that helps a bit.

Russ.
