im surprised they turned out this well.  i did use like a half a can of wd40 though.  probably a little over kill

When I had my 4x4, I sprayed some on the CV boots so mud wouldn't stick and it made them soft and deteriorate. Later my friend said petroleum eats rubber and I should have used a silicone spray instead.

It's also good for removing and installing grips!  I've used it for years.
