Re: Lepage Build in Progress, Any thoughts.

that frame spanned a few era's, was used until 97 or so.... so you need to decide what era you want it set up for. early 90's or later.

also, they were used for both street and flat so you'll need to think that also.

here is one that i had and rode until i cracked it.. its an early one without the gusset under the downtube

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e270/brianpleva/100_5912.jpg

i set this up for later 90's street/flat riding, hoffman forks, phatjacks, fatty pegs and 1 pc

I like the rims on certain bikes (ie choppers and customs) but not on that bike.

Now it's your turn, give me suggestions on my 2000 RL. I just posted for help big_smile

I REALLY appreciate all the input guy's.  I personally like the late 90's style, kinda the era of brian p's bike.  If I don't use the peregrine 95's on this build I have no idea if they will ever get used.

I think if the spokes weren't radial laced you guys would love the 95 spokes.  Kinda like timo's home made 95's on his B1.

I think you're absolutely right.

Those wheels could be really cool looking. Timo's wheel build is a great story and a cool final result. Every time I see radial lacing, It conjures thoughts of Walgoose..... Maybe look into having them re-laced in 3 or 4 cross.  Just a thought.   Either way... Keep going on this one. Lets see how much peregrine stuff you can get on this thing. smile

I'm all into to the cross lace.  I have never laced any wheels before so It might be best left to a PRO.

Re: Lepage Build in Progress, Any thoughts.

i dont personally remember anyone running those multi spokers, i personally thought they were more for show not function, as are the peregrine wheels with 16 bladed spokes laced in a maltese cross fashion...

but frank, if you like them and want something different on there, keep em on

Re: Lepage Build in Progress, Any thoughts.

I would love to see them relaced, but I bet it will be hell. I think there might be issues with the spoke allignment because of how close the holes are drilled in the hubs. I only knew one person who had them years ago and after a year of semi heavy riding the rear rim started to split in half right down the center through the holes for the spokes. I guess there are too many holes in them to hold up to extended abuse.

Looking for a Homeless Soul Bro frame and fork.

Looking for a copy of BMX Inferno from S&M Bikes and any other mid school videos. I have a bunch so maybe we can work out a trade.

pic below of southerncrossup from ozbmx's clp, he used the 95's too.  they look better once the whole bike is built up IMO.

Wow nice bikes, I do think the 95's look better when it is built up.

BTW.  When I bought this frame and fork it came with the exact same seat post as the one southerncrossup has.  Some kalloy seatpost. Weird

To be quite honest I was looking at building something like southerncrossup's bike but seeing he already has one I might have to rethink it.  hmmm

huh?

dude, if you have a build vision, do it.... just because someone has a similar build to what you were planning, you may change you thoughts???

then you wont be completely happy.... go with your original plan
