you call that minor? big_smile
i'd agree on the oxalic bath and dip the whole thing as long as the hubs are steel. Good luck on the rear rim.

Need used 20" items: red flanged Tuff Wheel II front, yellow Tuff Wheel I rear, yellow Tuff II front, Araya pro-class silver front wheel, red Araya 7x rear wheel, silver Araya 7c 20x1 3/8 rear wheel, and 1 or 2 blue or 2 yellow tires w tan sides (any condition), a good or NOS dark gold front Sunshine hub (high/low flange), and a cheap 20x1 3/8 tan skinwall tire (used is fine)

I'd re-lace if I were you.  Try the tutorials here on building your own wheels.  It's really not too difficult.  It'll make saving those rims a lot easier.

Re: How to take minor rust off these Mongoose Proclass Wheels???

i don't know if i would call that minor rust. minor rust i would say 0000 steel wool followed by some polish but in this case i would take the bearings and axles out clean out the old grease and put them in a ao bath. you really don't want to do that by hand. especially the spokes they will never look right if you try to do it by hand. even then that rust on that back rim is bad enough that it's right down top the steel so there won't be any chrome under there but if you do a good polish job you can kinda blend those spots with the chrome to get it pretty decent looking

wait lets think about this for a minute you hubs look like they are raw aluminum so tho oxy bath would eat those up. can they be protected with petrolium jelly or wax or something? ao bath might be a bad idea hmm
