1982 GT Pro

Christmas Surprise!!

This was my Christmas gift 1982, and I am in the process of putting back together. I still have about 80% of the parts to build it as it came out of the box on Christmas morning. But I am going to put it together using parts that have been on and off of it during its lifetime. Eventually I will remount the original Power Series cranks that I had on it at one point, as well as the Pro Class wheels. The bars are not originally from this bike, but are period correct. The DK stem is of newer vintage, but just looks too cool not to have on there. The frame and fork and bars are all original chrome. They are down to the nickel plate in some spots, but overall the frame presents fairly well. Im on the fence about whether to keep it all original, or make it perfect. I will update the pics as I get more stuff done.

build it as is ...you can always re do it.....

Good to hear you kept the bike from your childhood. There is nothing that can replaces the actual bike from your own memories. Good stuff!

i would build it as is don't try to make a perfect cookie cutter bike like everyone has. what headset lock is that i don't recognise it?

Yeah im not trying for perfection, but I like them to be clean.
Its a DK from the late 80"s
