Re: GT Expert needed

Your serial number isn't right, i'm guessing the ''I'' is actually a ''1'', in which case it's an August of '91 build, '92 model. It's a GT Vertigo, entry level bike w/ chromoly main frame, this style frame was used from '90-'93. The bars, fork, sprocket, 48's, crank and stem are from a mid 90's Schwinn.

Re: GT Expert needed

Big help thanks

The bars are actually Slam Bars, and the forks are Pitch Forks. Wheels are NG ally hubs and rims. i also have a odessey crank that is going to be fitted soon.

Thinking of actually selling the bike but have no idea of how much to ask

Does anyone know what the going rate is for a bike of this standard. I also have alot of spares pictured below

The forks are the original vertigo forks

Pegs are all GT

GT seat

Dia Compe brake callipers and R and L hand Dia Compe levers

Beartrap pedels

Original vertigo bars

Odessey crank

and a few other bits

Slam bars never had a knurled cross bar, they're copies that were stock on mid 90's low end Schwinn freestyle bikes.
The Fork is not an S&M, the pitchfork didn't have brake cable routes, again, it's a copie from an entry level Schwinn.

Re: GT Expert needed

The bars and forks were boxed when i brought them they also had original decals on them so im pretty sure they are not copies

Re: GT Expert needed

I had a Vertigo that looked similar, but it did not have the coaster brake mount. And it didn't have an angled seat tube cut-off, so I guessing that that is an earlier model???

Re: GT Expert needed

its a 90-92 Vertigo. Theres just no build date in that serial. Very common for low end GTs from the early 90s to have that serial.

Can you ever really have enough GT's?
