Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

Welcome to the site.. If you do a search "shipping to Australia" you will see many of the same topics.. It's been gone over a few times now..  Shipping prices and just the headaches that once it leaves the US there's not much info to say if the person received it or not.. Some people do ship, some don't..  Sorry...

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

not a problem..  Some of us let the International members use us for shipping needs..  Some Aussie guys will stock pile parts at a friends US address until he has enough to ship over and make it worth it.. Just an Idea..  good luck..

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

I'm in UK and its really the minority that wont ship international, if you see something you want shoot the seller a pm and you'll find 9 times out of 10 they will ship to you if you are willing to pay the extra charges

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

It's mostly the shipping charge, but anyone who buys from other countries knows it's just the way it is.  It's pricey keeping that rajulio in the air and off the boat.

Most will ship as stated already, just shoot the seller a PM, pay the extra shipping charges, and you should be golden.

Or hit me up, I will ship anyware.

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

Limits on size.

The USPS for us in the states is really the only affordable option for shipping to OZ. I sell a lot of guitars to people in other countries and often I can not sell to Australian buyers because the package is simply to large. The packages total length and girth combined may not exceed 108 inches (274.32 cm)

If they won't ship a small package to you I have no idea.

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

Oh, and the shipping cost is usually not that bad. Not really that much more than shipping to most of Europe on a medium size package. And considering the distance packages seem to get to the buyers rather quickly. I would much rather ship to Australia than many countries in Europe for that matter, shipping to France is the worst because their post is slow, and their customs are awful.

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

I've got a package going to Australia today smile

I shipped a complete bike a few months ago and I will say I wouldn't do it again unless it was someones holy grail or something and they just had to have it.  It was extremely difficult for me and took about 7 tries to get the box small enough (79 inches I think?)

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

I've shipped internationally before but there's no way I do it without insuring the package.  With insurance comes additional duty fees for the buyer.  I've had buyers complain about the duty fees.  That along with customs forms and difficulty in estimating shipping charges ahead of time make it a pain in the neck and sometimes risky.

Looking for:
NOS white freestyle tires, preferably something rare.
NOS white Elina Flyte Tech
Chrome GT framestanders
85-86 Redline rear framestanders
Turquoise brake pads

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

gotta be the fact that they are too lazy to fill out the customs form, thats really the only difference as long as the buyer is willing to pay the extra shipping

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

and the only problem i have ever had shipping international was to the u.k.

i sold handlebars on ebay, shipped, and the buyer never got them, he contacted me a few weeks later and i had to prove i shipped them with the customs number, but no real problems

Yeah i had that as a reason not to ship a couple of times .. lazy ... sales can go the other way too though ... they just go on the list of people to not sell/trade to for me

If you print shipping labels from paypal it is simple and takes no time at all.

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

I have shipped 20+ complete bikes, and 100's of parts to Aussie with not a single problem. It is expensive, but the buyers were all willing to pay the shipping costs. USPS Priority is the chaepest way to ship there by far. At least 50% cheaper.

I'll ship stuff anywhere if the customer wants to pick up the extra shipping. The customs paperwork is pretty simple but I think it scares off some sellers. OZ fellas are cool by me.

Re: I WAS WONDERING...WHY WONT PEOPLE SHIP THINGS TO AUSTRALIA??

I tried to ship an SE Racing Big Ripper down under.  I cut the box WAY down, and completely disassembled the bike.  The bike was in 2 boxes.  It was still too large to go USPS.  Just to ship the smaller box (with everything but the wheels) was going to cost me $586.95.  That's more than the bike sold for, and it still didn't cover the wheels.
