I bought a old school haro today
I have no idea what year this is, or how old it is, all i know is none of the parts are orginal. The kid I bought it from said it was his dad's when he was a kid and they ripped everything down and rebuilt it with all new parts when he was starting to ride.. but here are the picstures if you need better ones let me know. I took these with my blackberry so obviously, quality may not be so great. Figured if must be worth something.. only paid 60 bucks for it.

Doesn't really look like one from the 80s. The serial number will usually tell you what the year is. But, looks like a good bike for the price.
Welcome to the Museum!

85 Hutch Pro Raider (Done!), 85 Haro FST (Done!), 87 GT Pro Freestyle Tour (Almost done!), 85 GT Pro Performer (Georgia Tech edition), 87 GT Performer, 85 Hutch Trickstar

Re: I bought a old school haro today
It's an 88 Group 1 "RS-1" Top of the line frame that year.
It's the only Group 1 that had 990 brake mounts and cable guides running down the down tube.
88 was the last year of the straight top tube as well, after that they had the angled top tube.
Very nice bike. I hope you can bring it back to life.![]()

Re: I bought a old school haro today
is this a quill stem ? or is it a clamp on style stem ?
curious about your headset on there. looks like its got shims like new size steerer tube does
not the regular headset stuff with top lock nut and associated under parts.
I take my dremel tool to my hutch parts.
I crash daily with my q bars. ( and I stomped the sweep out of them )
I scrape up my seats like no bodys buisness
and I drop my bike alot when I ride / fall.
you would be horrified watching me ride.

Looks like someone did the 1 1/8 threadless conversion on it.
