1977 DG Racer 1

1977 DG Racer 1 Frame and Fork

I finally got my hands on a DG, basically one the same Frame and Fork's that I raced BITD. This is a real sweet and clean '77 DG Racer 1. I had forgotten how much I loved this setup untill I now have one back in my hands. I raced the DG Racer 1 for a couple of season's before given a Cali Pro to race. She just came out of her OA bath and now is ready for some serious polishing. She might not be mint, but she is beautiful to me....

Cogratulations on your unreal find, That's what it's all about not just getting any ol bike or model it's getting the most desireable one's. and your's is a Beaut!! one day I hope I come across one just like yours one day!!

Yes I will build her, I'm looking through my old photos to post me racing my DG bitd. I ran with a color scheme of red and chrome, my buddy rode a blue chrome on his DG. Before the California Pro came into my life, then it was Black and Gold all the way....

Here's a picture of me on my DG BITD, I had her decked out in Chrome and Red, behind me is my buddy Mike on his DG, his setup of Blue and Chrome was sweet too....

Seems my Frame and Fork have some 'unique' traits....

this is what i find interesting about your DG. your gusset is solid weld until it meets the head tube like a 78 but your brake bridge is square like an early 77. i have never seen this before.
