Where to get a 26 tpi die?

Where to get a 26 tpi die?
So I want to freshen up some axles. I thought the easiest way to do that would be to use a die to remove crud and correct any of the wayward threads. Where do I get a cheap 3/8 -26 tpi die? A tap would be nice too. I've searched Amazon, McMaster, and even tired to find a cheap one via google and ebay. I did find some, but they were all pretty expensive. Is that just the nature of this size, I'm going to have to pay a lot for one?
The cheapest I've found so far was $32 (12s/h) from here http://www.hermanscentral.com/product/q … sid=google
There's got to be cheaper ones out there.

On this same note, Can you re-thread a 24tpi to a 26tpi??? I have some 24tpi pegs I wished were 26tpi.

I remember making threaded axle pegs senior year in high school (1992). I remember 24tpi was common, but the 26tpi was a bitch to get. I eventually found the tap. Not sure where I got it but they also had 26tpi dies.
never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience

nope.
also of note that most axles are rolled threads and not cut thus some surface hardening and overall a stronger axle

It's nice to be important but its more important to be nice.

I bought a kit at Home Depot for around $40. They also sell individual taps and dies. Sears is also a good place to check.
My dad is a retired tool and die guy and had an amazing collection of both but sold it all when he retired.

I have some 3/8 - 26 taps but no dies. I was thinking about ordering some from england where they seem to be more common.

Re: Where to get a 26 tpi die?
the snap on website doesn't have 26 TPI listed. I asked the snap on guy that comes by work a while back about them and he said they didn't carry them.

Re: Where to get a 26 tpi die?
I think Porkchop's BMX had a tap and die axle kit. Seemed to be pretty expensive from what I remember. $60 or so.
I looked for some a while back, and couldn't find any. I also couldn't find metric 10mmx1.0's so I compromised and used 3/8"x16, if I remember correctly. It was the closest to 10x1.

Yea, please post it. I would rather buy snap-on than some google-searched website.
