1988 Auburn CR20r

I built this bike as close the BMX Action article test bike from the March 88 issue as I could.

I tried to have as many correct parts on this build as possible. The seat in the picture is an 88 but the article bike appears to have an 87 seat on it (working on that). The hubs are newer GT Superlace without the locking collars but other than that they are the same. However I am unsure if the ones on the bike were chrome or black. The article states the rims are Gold Ukai shiny sides but the article pics appear to show gold Araya 7x rims. It currently has a Tuf-Neck Powerdisk but I have a GT on the way.  The picture shows the bike moched up with what I currently have for it. It has my 1990 Aunurn's back tri on it for the pictures since mine is in route from the frame doctor. The fork and rear tri will go to the chromer this winter. Every thing else is correct to the test bike. The Picture I took is meant to imitate the Red Rocket ad from 1988.

like that color. Smooth looking build

Great looking Auburn.  Those Power Series cranks really push it over the top.  Nice job!

And it shows. Well done. Will you ride, or just look at it?

I will ride it. Gonna put different shoes on it when I do and maybe one of my other seats too. Un fortunately the weather has been wet and it's looking it will be for a while. Maybe next spring.
