1982 Schwinn Siderwinder

Schwinn's early mountain bike using the BMX components of the day.

This is a very pristine example of an original 1982 Schwinn Sidewinder.  It is all original save the tires, seat, and grips--they were unused but too crusty to save.  I relaced the wheels with new stainless spokes to give them a little extra pop and added an NOS Visecount MX seat.  Original equipment includes Ukai 26x2.125 gold rims with ACS hubs, gold Dia-compe brakes and levers,  Suntour thumb shifters and AG derailleur, and a chrome BMX style fork.  The frame is old school Chicago steel.  Note the original yellow valve caps and plastic cap on the kickstand--this baby was never ridden until I took it lunch!

Thanks for the props.  I'm on to a 26" racing cruiser build and have listed the Schwinn on ebay to fund the new project--tell your friends!smile
