Beautiful bike mate, well done!!
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Re: 1982 Race Inc.
I just happened on this site and I am soooooo missing my Race Inc that I had back in in 84. I sold it in 98 and I knew I would regret it. It was red with Skyway Mags. I raced it, but mostly started doing steet tricks. I had my dad drill a hole in the front fork for a break. That bike held up so well, except for the handle bars. They broke during a bunny hope over a curb. You did such an awesome job on this bike. I think this will start my quest to find and restore a Race Inc.

Re: 1982 Race Inc.
Thanks for all the kind words guys. I've not had a chance to get back here and say thank you. This was my first bike and it was a strange experience to see it all come together. I'd not seen any '80s BMX parts in 20 some years prior to building it so... Yeah. It was something. I have big big pictures of this bike and my others on this site:
http://nicjohnson.com/vbmx/main.php?g2_itemId=18
...and I've since found the numbers and JT Racing decals and such to really complete it. I'll have to take another picture. Thanks again guys. It's great to have these sites to post/share on.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE ARE STILL OLD SCHOOL ! I'VE BEEN DROOLING OVER THESE BIKES FOR OVER 24 HOURS NOW. TUFF 2 S , AXEL PEGS, FRAME STANDS!! I WAS DOING TRICKS IN MY DREAMS LAST NITE. WIFE THINKS I'VE LOST MY MIND! THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO. I AM ALREADY LOOKING FOR A HUTCH WIND STYLER TO REDO. I KNOW IT IS NOT THE BEST BIKE IN THE WORLD TO REDO, BUT THAT IS WHAT I HAD WHEN I WAS A BOY. COULDN'T AFFORD THE TRICK STAR. GOD BLESS YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

Re: 1982 Race Inc.
Claymation, 'the best bike in the world to redo' is the one you had back in the day. There's nothing like the first one, doesn't matter what it is. My dad bought my Race Inc for me when I was about 12, it was well used but we tightened it up, put new grips on it and rode it for years. Loved that bike, great times.
The same thing happened to me, I was thinking of a bike for my kids and suddenly remembered my old BMX bike, which I hadn't thought about since I was 17 years old. A couple Google searches and I was in trouble. Welcome to the obsession.

Re: 1982 Race Inc.
That is just too mucking fuch! Great job.
Bending rims and breaking hubs for over 20yrs
Since I am of the old school, I immediately jump up and proclaim that I'm okay, but in truth it really hurt, and I would prefer to do what today's young riders do and just lie on the ground, whimpering, until five or six people showed up to help me stand.
