2001 Next Focus

I have tried to break it...

ALL the parts have been replaced but the frame remains.
The bike of peter day I thought he'd break the frame so I found another one.
he loves it the bike sits high and has specialized sealed hubs.
excaliber cranks and all that.
Hey I tried to bust that s#!t I bent the original cranks the first time I rode it and  the 3 million spoke rimms defeated the idea of making a light bike so i ripped that crap off and started over after destroying the bearings.
This will be the only next frame I build but ya know.

Re: 2001 Next Focus

MAN NEXT IS JUNK!!! not worth throwing your money down the toilet building it up! its a waste of time. buy a haro or a DB if your gonna buy new. screw the WAL-FART NEXT and whatever else they got...its all junk in my book. stripp all those decent parts off that frame, buy a torch, heat that frame up and bend it up beyond recognition and dig a hole(a DEEP hole) throw it in and never think about that NEXT again!!!!!! BUY A GT OR A DYNO those are REAL BIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2001 Next Focus

funny smack nasty. I do have real bikes.  WE HAVE TRIED TO BREAK IT. the build is an experiment to see if the frame is really junk. or not. A 240 pound guy rides it, IT HAS NOT FLEXED OR CRACKED OR TWISTED. so design. trully odd. but if it still stands at the end of the day.  It works.

I have sick dyno's and Ive cracked  two of them.....

P.S. ........ nevermind.

love yall. big_smile

Re: 2001 Next Focus

i found one of these at the scrap yard but they stabbed the down tube with the bobcat forks. i'd would of taken it. it auctually has some beefy welds. i thought about  taking to my friend that has access to a tig welder and putting my own seat tube in. and honestly all these new bikes are basically coming from the same factorys out of china and tiawan, just swapping out the stickers. i have a pacific full suspension mtb that will keep up with the brand names. nice bike man..smile

Re: 2001 Next Focus

I just got the frame and want to rebuild it. The welding looks impressive and began to research Dynacraft Bikes and found out where they are made and sold. Did not have a brand name on it, so I'm figuring its a Next since it looks exactly the same. Made in 10/2002. Been trying to figure out the bottom bracket shell size, whether its American or Mid.  What kind of headset did you use? This will be a spare bike for my boy, and if haven't you broken the frame I doubt he will.  So if you remember the sizes you used for the crank and headset, then I can get parts for it.

Thanks

Re: 2001 Next Focus

Hey i just found one of these at a garage sale for $10.00 , It has 48s and a old gt sprocket with the wings. It's pretty rusty , but in good shape, at first look i could tell somthing was cheap about it when i saw the kickstand bracket that is welded to the frame..? oh well not worth much, but a pretty light bike . who knows?

Re: 2001 Next Focus

I just bought a NEXT for 10 bucks and gave it to my son's friend. His bikes get stolen so fast I figure maybe they will leave this one alone! (lol) Seriously, it is light, good welds and it was cheap. His last bike was stolen out of his garage, so until he gets a decent lock and uses it there really is no point. Personally, I still ride my 79 Torker MX, I am 43 and 220 lbs. 30 years later it is still the best bike I ever had. Outlasted a lot of bikes! If I come across something else nicer for him I will do an upgrade, but for now....
