1981 Redline MX-II

Built for Air! Cheep and Light were the only rules.

Another one of the "Had one as a kid" bikes". Found this frame sittin in a pile at the BMX Museum show this summer. Lot of people passed on it before i took my shot. Pulled "Rob" aside, slugged him in his pride and made him give it to me for a little chump change. Then it was time to raid evilbay for some goodies! Pulled off the theft of these Odyssey cranks with matching pedals missing there cages for $21. Bought the sticker kit Porkchopzz had lyin around for a while now cause I couldnt find any bootleg Redline sets. Dug out the rest of the parts from the "Goose nest" and whala, Sick as thay come and Light as Hell! Feels Like the one I had as well. Played hookie from work and pounded out about 60 miles in its first day done. Had to readjust everything after beatin the snot out of it. Found I still have "it" though, bunnied on to a picnic bench!!! love this bike! Last pix is me in the 80's with the first one, checkerd pad set and V bars with me in tight levi's and Nike Vandals! Airborn All the Way......

Re: 1981 Redline MX-II

Made onto the bench but with no brakes the landing coming off wasn't so fun. I was really haulin ass and I was more worried about slaming the rear wheel that I didn't have time to pull up at the other end of the bench. Came down really hard and planted my ass on the seat. Pays to ride a soft seat sometimes, shure wish this was one of thoes times!

Glad you are using the frame and it is not rusting away in my shed.

Man, any one who knows whats in your "shed" would know its lost the junk element long ago and now its a treasure chest. I'm just glad now and then you go crazy and part with some! big_smile
