Re: 1983 Redline 500A

This bad boy now belongs to me! I will need to post some pics of this frame before rebuiling it though. It isn't a 500a? I have all the parts to build it but I need to get the model for sure so that I can decal it properly! Rooster and I thought it was a 500a but after close inspection of some of the details, it may be a different model! The tell tale clues are an extra piece of metal welded just behind the seat tube and it has the football shaped Redline stamp on the BB, NOT the hotdog like the 500a? It also has a six digit serial number on the BB not the dual serial numbers on the two rear drop-outs? Any help would be appreciated! This bike will be so sick when it's done! I have all red and yellow components!

Re: 1983 Redline 500A

Hey i too have a similar frame but cant figure out what it is? did you ever figure out the correct model? Mine appears to be an 83 with the similar metal tab welded behind the seat tube. Also has the oval redline stamp, 14mm dropouts, and 1 1/8" headtube.  If you were able to figure out the right model please let me know! Id like to know what i have!

BTW, Sweet looking frameset.  Did you complete it?
