1988 Redline RL-20 II
I never thought I would have a RL-20 II
Saw this thing on CL, and almost crapped myself... took a little convincing, but I got it at an awesome price. I am in the process of taking it all apart, cleaning, and regreasing it, and putting it back together... that is the plan for now.
Let me know whatcha think!

Re: 1988 Redline RL-20 II
I'm not a big Redline fan, but the two I like the most are these red ones and the white 84s or 85s. I would definately want them in my collection. Your collection keeps rolling: parades, craigslist...I can't imagine what's next.
BTW, I have a front RL Edge wheel in my basement. I had a front and a rear. I broke the special rear hub and replaced it with a freewheel mag that came with the bike to keep riding. Someone threw alot of my stuff out when I was in college
and I never saw the wheel again. They were a little slippery with the coating on them, although there are two versions of the wheel I'm told. My rims were made by Weinman.

New Pics... I am liking this bike more and more as I finish it up... since the rear tri isn't chrome, I decided to surround the bike with chrome! Still need to sand and polish up the Redline Chainring also...

Looks good. I noticed the tires. I got the same ones from flatland fuel in the mail today.

Wow.. looks awesome.
Flights and sprocket are a huge upgrade to the look. The black grips, seat and tires really give respect to the OG red.
Did you have the bars chromed?![]()

Thanks Matt and guys... When I got it, I really didn't like it... almost got rid of it. I wanted (and still sort of want) a radberry or hazzard yellow one (I am just really into the unique colors of the 80's), but it is really growing on me now, I really can't wait to ride this. Plus... its a REDline... so Red is pretty fitting, and classic for the bike.
I am thinking about picking up a set of Blk/Grey Wilkerson ODI's for this... always liked the flangeless grips, and wanted to toss a bit of grey to complement the frame. Not sure on that one yet.
I actually stumbled upon the chrome bars off of a Master I picked up on CL... so I have the red ones still that I am probably going to sell... or maybe add to another build... not sure yet.
Thanks guys... polishing that sprocket was a cool project, and I got a lot of satisfaction out of that. Also going to polish up the stem, and pedals, just to keep the theme going. I am liking the survivor frame, w/ all of the blingy chrome stuff surrounding it.
Thanks again! ![]()
