1999 GT Power Series 1.0

This is my 1999 GT Power Series 1.0 and I found this at a bike shop that it had been hanging in the back for over 10 years now, so I decided to buy the bike and give it a good home. Everything on the bike is brand new and I did my own customizations to the bike, which in my opinion realy make it alot better. Here are the specs on my bike and as far as I know I am the only one on the museum that has this model year in this color (Battleship Gray with Blue, Orange and White decals).

Stock parts that I kept
Frame- GT 6061-T6 aluminium, low profile design, USA Made
Fork- GT 100% chromoly fork with 1 an 1/4 inch blades with 1 and 1/8 threadless steer tube
Chain- GT 1/2 x 3/32 silver ( I removed 2 links from the chain since I am using a 39x14 gearing instead of the stock 44x16, (39x14 is the same ratio as 44x16 but is usualy lighter and gives more chain clearance)
Rims- Weinmann Zac-X, 31mm wide, single wall, high polished, alumium, 36 hole, (the rim decals are also Blue and Orange so they match the bike)
Hubs- GT Mohawk, sealed cartridge bearing, high flange, 36 hole, CNC'ed aluminum, the rear hub is a flip flop hub so you can use freewheels 16 tooth and higher on one side and freewheels 15 tooth, 14 tooth and 13 tooth on the other side
Spokes- 14 guage
Nipples- Brass
Brake lever- Dia Compe MX1
Rear brake- Dia Compe MX1, direct pull V brake
Handlebars- GT 4 piece Pro Design, 100% chromoly, ( I shaved the bars 1 inch on each side with a pipe cutter)
Stem- GT Piston, inverted design, alumium, 1 and 1/8 threadless
Headset- Dia Compe SX1 with chromoly cups
Seat Post- GT micro adjust, aluminum, 27mm
Seat Post clamp- GT Piston, CNC'ed alumiuim, 1 and 1/4 inch, black anodized with white GT logo

Parts that I switched
Cranks- Redline Flight chromly tubular cranks with double pinch bolts and 19mm spindle, 175mm lenght crank arms (stock GT 1 piece 180mm chromly crank)
Bottom bracket- Redline sealed cartridge bearings, American size with alumium cups (stock GT 8 piece steel unsealed bearings with outer GT Racing logos)
Chainwheel- GT aluminium 39 tooth blue anodized USA made Overdrive Lite (stock GT alumium 44 tooth black anodized Overdrive)
Freewheel- Dicta anodized black 14 tooth (stock ACS Main Drive chrome 16 tooth)
Pedals- blue Animal Hamilton PC with 9/16 inch axles (stock black GT platform aluminum with 1/2 inch axles)
Tires- Blue walled black topped, 1.95 width front and rear, 65 psi, freestyle tread (stock
GT AA-Pro, 2.125 width front and 1.75 width rear, 60 psi, racing tread)
Grips- Schwinn Stinger, blue with sparkles (stock Dyno lip, black)
Bar ends- Kink lightest, aluminium, chrome (GT, plastic, black)
Seat- Schwinn Stinger, blue with sparkles and white Schwinn racing stripe with S logo, chromoly 7mm seat rails (stock GT padded dropnose with plastic bash guards, black with white stripes and GT logo, 7mm chromoly seat rails)
Chain tensioners- Redline, blue anodized, aluminium, I had to modify them to so that they would fit the rear dropouts since the top part of the rear dropout is higher than the bottom part, (stock the 1999 Pro Series 1.0 did not come stock with any chain tensioners)
Grip Stop- I added a black ODI aluinum grip stop to the rear grip to keep it from sliding (stock the 1999 Pro Series 1.0 did not come stock with a grip stop)
Brake pads- Kool Stop Phat Pads made in the USA, the pads are twice as tall as regular brake pads and were designed to be used with rims with a tall sidwall, (stock the stock pads were regular size)

Re: 1999 GT Power Series 1.0

Thanks, its always nice to know that someone else likes my bike. Whenever I build one I always wonder if I am crazy or the bike actualy looks goods and its nice to know that I am not totaly crazy. If you want to know anything about any of my bikes, just ask. Thanks for the comment.

Re: 1999 GT Power Series 1.0

Thanks, I thought that all the blue accents would realy help the bike look alot better. The Battleship gray color realy started to grow on me also. I realy think that the bike came out nice. I was worried when I ordered all the blue parts that it would look weird and but in my opinion I think that it came out looking very tastefull and almost factory. Thanks for the positive comment.
