1997 GT Performer

Another time consuming "clean up" job that turned out pretty good indeed!!

I spotted this bike hanging in the rafters at a garage sale in its original condition covered in thick dust with a few Wasp's nest thingys hanging off the forks.. I asked the home owner if they would take $40.00 for the bike and they said "What Bike??" I pointed up and they laughed because it had been up there for so long they'd forgot it was there.. They said it was about 12-15 years old and had been up there for 10 of them.. The lady asked me to help get it down and take a better look before making anymore offers.. Upon its first taste of "Tera-Firma" in a decade i could tell the bike was completly stock and in exelent condition under the dust with just a very slight hint of surface rust covering the forks, bars, and chain.. Along with the tires being flat, the lady said i can't take $40.00 for that so give me $10.00 and its yours... I gladly paid her along with another $5.00 for a few mint condition KISS records that were there... Upon getting it home, I took a better look and realized just how mint the bike was!!! I could take my bare finger and rub the very slight film of rust and it would come off.. I tore the bike down and started polishing and cleaning every evening for a few hours.. About 3 or 4 weeks later it was assembly time!! And heres the finished product.. It has a few very small nicks and the sidewall on the tires is less than stellar.. Ill try to find some replacements...
