1978 Redline Proline

1978 redline proline. These are before pics. Its a project on the to do list.

Not much idea on the history. Was a friends, uncle's bike. Traded an Ibanez bass for it. Anyone with correct parts, or decals, or pads let me know.

Re: 1978 Redline Proline

What an awesome survivor!  cool
Looks like it just needs a correct seat (good luck) grips and maybe tires to be perfect again.
I have a 1979 Proline survivor too.

Still searching for my missing bikes from BITD. 1979 Blue Max serial: C19 221346 and 1977 Webco serial: WB 42667. Both last seen at Spoke and Sport Bicycles in Spokane, WA. around 1984. Reward if found!!

Re: 1978 Redline Proline

Afaik, itll need cranks, tires, pedals, seatpost, and seat to be original again. Obviously alot of polishing, painting, etc, too. Some pads will be nice. Think Ill just go with repop pads, NOS ones on ebay went for like $500 a set last time I seen em.

Thanks for the compliments. Hopefully will have looking showroom new soon. Cant decide whether to paint, powder, or try to polish it out. Its got some significant scracthes. Never plan on selling it, but curious what these go for complete, in restored or excellent condition. Dont see many around.

Personally I like survivors. I would clean it and replace a few of the non-correct parts but leave the paint and stickers alone. Remember its only original once!
