1988 Redline 800PXL
1988 Redline 800PXL
Project Independence: A tribute to The United States Of America, and to the brave men and women protecting our freedom!
I was originally wanting to build an old school racer/rider and something funny happened, I saw Rl20IIguys patriot build, bought a seat post from a member who also happens to be in our armed services, and along with my blood that runs red, white, and blue, I decided to build my version of a tribute to old glory, so here we go. Frame- 1988 Redline 800PXL, Fork - 1988 Redline 800PXL, Headset - N.O.S Tioga MX-2, Handlebars - Redline Race Forklifters, Stem - DK Pro XL ,Grips - N.O.S Oakley B-1B, Brake Lever - Dia-Compe Tech 77, Brakes - N.O.S Dia-Compe Mx 901, Seat Post - Revcore ,Seat post Clamp DK Round Gen1,- Rims- Araya 7X ,Tires - New Tioga Comp 3, Chainwheel - Redline Block Font 46 tooth, Cranks - Redline Double Pinch Flights 180mm ,Pedals - Crupi Pro Round with Crupi cages, Pads- New Flite Pads Special thanks to RL20IIGuy(frame,fork,headset,brakes,bars), Chip (powder), kcmobmx(stem), MyNewHobbyK9(seatpost),vettefan(seatclamp),bmxmarty(pedals from Roseville show),ggallin(chainwheel from Roseville show),js-44sds(Araya 7x's), Porkchop(pads) And Racer Decals for all my decal work.
I am still needing my Bullseye hubs and White Industries freewheel and my Sedis chain to finsh build. Look for it 2010 Roseville

Re: 1988 Redline 800PXL
Heres a quick rundown on how the bike will be built, Redline race forklifters,Dia Compe MX901 (nos), Tioga MX-II headset (nos), Revcore straight seatpost are on the way, Bullseye hubs and Araya hoops, Crupi pedals, DK round seat clamp, Oakley B-1B grips, Flights and chainwheel still need to be aquired. I will be having it powdered in Candy Blue with what I hope will be a custom half and half look, typical Redline style with a twist. I want this one done by summers end.

Re: 1988 Redline 800PXL
Added new pic showing the Redline Race Forklifters, Tioga MX2 headset, Revcore seatpost, and Dia-Compe MX901's on it. Bought some Crupi Pro Round pedals and a 46 tooth Redline chainwheel at the Roseville show that are being polished ( by me ) and are not in the pic.
Oh and the pic is a crappy cell phone pic, didn't have good light last night to use my camera.

Re: 1988 Redline 800PXL
Did a mock up on it this weekend, just to see what I'm working with, tearing it down and getting it ready to pack up and ship to Chip for some magical powdercoat.

Re: 1988 Redline 800PXL
Just bought my Araya 7x's from JS-44DS, now I'm just needing my Bullseyes to build these wheels and I'll be adding a White Industries freewheel to those Bullseyes when they get built up.

Re: 1988 Redline 800PXL
Heres how it sits untill I get my Bullseyes laced to my Arayas. And no the Peregrines are not staying on, they are just there to mock it up.

Re: 1988 Redline 800PXL
This came out great! Chip did a great job on the powder.
Years ago I painted candy blue on a friend's RL20. He didn't put decals on it and had white Tuff 2's. It kind of looked like yours a bit.

Thanks Crowe, this is turning out to be my favorite build to date, hell this is my favorite bike I've ever owned and I haven't even given it a ride yet.
